Fr. Vince Richardson-Basketball Camp
Before entering seminary Fr. Vince was the co-captain of both the basketball team and the cross country team at Lansing Eastern High School his senior year. While in seminary he helped lead Sacred Heart to six tournament championships out of eight possible. Along with loving the priesthood, Fr. Vince has a passion for the game of basketball and wants to share that with the youth. Fr. Vince is parochial vicar at St Pat’s in Brighton.
Peggy Shibata – Volleyball
Peggy earned a volleyball scholarship at the University of Pittsburgh. She was involved with Fellowship of Christian Athletes and participated in bible studies and other outreach activities. She has been coaching middle school and high school girls’ volleyball and plays competitively when time allows. An Academic All-American, she went on to earn two masters degrees in engineering. She works part-time as an engineering consultant and has four young children with her husband Jon.
Cassie McCarthy – Girls’ Soccer
After achieving All-State Honors in high school and playing for the Michigan Hawks, Cassie earned a soccer scholarship to Schoolcraft College. Cassie coaches a Girls on the Run soccer team and works in admissions at Spiritus Sanctus Academy. Busy raising seven children with her husband Patrick, Cassie looks forward to returning to coaching at this summer’s Quest camps.
Marian Weber – Girls’ Basketball and Soccer
Marian played basketball and soccer at Franciscan University, where she was named Defensive Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player (basketball). She currently teaches 7th grade at Spiritus Sanctus Academy and coaches the 7th and 8th grade girls’ basketball team.
John Ozog – Boys’ Soccer, Sport Director
John holds a “D” coaching certificate and has served as the varsity head coach of Ladywood High School. He helped lead the Michigan Hawks team to a national championship after winning multiple tournaments throughout the country. John will lead the boys’ camps and serve as the overall supervisor for boys’ and girls’ soccer. John serves as a deacon at Christ the King in Ann Arbor. John has five children and twenty-three grandchildren.
Deacon Dave Lawrence – Football
Dave served as head football coach at Mattawan High School, where he secured the most wins in school history and was named State Regional Coach of the Year. Dave was on the national staff of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He captured state and national power lifting championships. Dave is a deacon at St Patrick’s in Brighton and teaches sports and conditioning at Gabriel Richard High School, where he also coaches football. David and his wife Janet have eight children.
Alex Ziolkowski – Boys’ and Girls’ Lacrosse
Alex is the second leading scorer for the University of Dallas lacrosse team, where he is entering senior year. Alex has served at Pine Hills, a Christian Youth Camp, and attended Gabriel Richard High School, where he starred in lacrosse and football. Alex has assisted in coaching various sports and has a great passion for youth and youth ministry. Alex is doubling majoring in Business and Spanish.
